1. Powerful 153-point AF achieves superior subject acquisition performance across a wide range of situations

The D500’s Multi-CAM 20K autofocus sensor module offers a dense configuration of 153 focus points (99 cross sensors) that covers an extremely wide portion of the image area, meaning that even fast-moving subjects can be acquired precisely. AF capability is extended down to -4 EV* with the central point and -3 EV* with all other points, making AF usable even in extremely low light or when shooting low-contrast subjects. A newly employed AF engine and 180K-pixel RGB sensor also contribute to achieving exceptional AF performance in a variety of scenes.

2. High-speed continuous shooting at approx. 10 fps for up to 200 shots (14-bit lossless compressed RAW)

The D500 delivers high-speed continuous shooting at approx. 10 fps*1 for up to 200 shots in JPEG and in 14-bit lossless compressed RAW, without any drop in
shooting speed. Even moving subjects can be tracked accurately across a wide field of view at this rapid rate, taking advantage of the camera’s stable viewfinder image and a widest-ever diagonal viewing angle*2 of approx. 30.8°.

3. Unique benefits of a compact DX system — added agility in telephoto shooting

Nikon’s DX-format D500 provides an angle of view equivalent to that of a lens with an approx. 1.5× longer focal length*1. This permits telephoto shooting using smaller, lighter lenses with a shorter focal length, while taking advantage of performance that rivals the D5 FX-format flagship model. The camera’s agility is also enhanced by the kit lens, AF-S DX NIKKOR 16-80mm f/2.8-4E ED VR, the lightweight 5× normal zoom lens, which weighs only approx. 1340 g/2 lb 15.3 oz*2 when attached to the D500.

4. 4K UHD video, suitable for professional productions

The D500 can record 4K UHD (3840 × 2160)/30p/25p/24p as well as 1080/60p video for up to 29 min. 59 s*1, with simultaneous output via HDMI available. It is also possible to generate 4K UHD time-lapse movies within the camera. In Full HD or HD mode, the D500’s electronic Vibration Reduction function*2 reduces the effects of camera shake in the horizontal, vertical and rotational directions during hand-held movie recording, while Active D-Lighting preserves details in highlights and shadows to capture footage with natural brightness.

The D500’s new EXPEED 5 image-processing engine, as used in the D5, delivers standard ISO sensitivity from 100 to 51200, expandable down to Lo 1 (ISO 50 equivalent) and up to Hi 5 (ISO 1640000 equivalent). It can capture exceptionally high-definition images, while effectively reducing noise even at high ISO settings. The new 180K-pixel RGB sensor (approx. 180,000 pixels) further improves the performance of the camera’s Advanced Scene Recognition System, and its flicker reduction for still images reduces exposure variations even under flickering light sources.

6. Touch-screen, tilting 8-cm/3.2-in. high-resolution monitor ensures more comfortable shooting for professionals and advanced amateurs

The D500’s touch-panel monitor enables a variety of functions, including instant switching of images using the frame advance bar and text input — shared with the D5 — as well as touch AF and touch shutter (in still shooting). The tilting monitor with 3-axis hinge structure allows you to shoot from more flexible angles for stills and movies. And its large 8-cm/3.2-in. screen with significantly enhanced 2359k-dot resolution lets you confirm focus in amazingly precise detail.

7. SnapBridge support lets you link with a smart device via Bluetooth® and Wi-Fi®

The D500 can be constantly connected to a smart device* with the SnapBridge application installed (to be available as a free download), via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi. This enables a variety of features: you can automatically transfer images taken with the D500 to your smart device, as well as upload them automatically to NIKON IMAGE SPACE. You can also use the smart device to browse images stored in the camera, as well as embed images with its location and date/time information. Le prix fr serait de 2299 €

Et bien ça faisait un bail qu'on l'attendait celui-là, et je suis sûr qu'il va y avoir un paquet de clients qui vont grincer des dents : ceux qui à force de l'attendre sont passés au plein format. Et ne me dites pas que ce n'est pas volontaire de la part de Nikon...

Maintenant, la fiche technique redonne la banane aux amateurs de DX, et tout particulièrement aux naturalistes et aux photographes sportifs. Vous en rêviez ? Nikon l'a fait (oui, je sais, Canon l'a fait avant).

Sur papier, ce boitier est une tuerie. Il reprend pas mal d'éléments du D5 (c'est peu dire), un écran orientable, le wifi. Sa couverture AF est top, le traitement d'image Expeed 5 le sera probablement aussi.

La seule chose qui chagrine, c'est prix. Mais vu les spécifications offertes, je vois mal comment Nikon aurait pu le positionner autrement. Ce boitier va faire mal aux D610, D750, et peut-être même au D810.

A mon sens, ce sera mieux qu'un excellent second boitier. Il fera un excellent boitier principal. Beaucoup reviendront certainement au DX (en venant du FX, seul le grand angle serait à changer). Perso, ça me donne envie. Reste à savoir de quel boitier FX je me séparerais si je faisais l'acquisition d'un D500.

Je dois dire qu'il me tente beaucoup, Mais pas question d'abandonner le FX que je commence à peine à découvrir, et que j'aime beaucoup.
C'est vrai que pour l'animalier et la macro, le 500 fait envie.
Pour le prix, c'est comme toujours, 6 mois après sa sortie, il aura perdu plusieurs centaines d'euros.

S'il était sorti 6 mois plus tôt, le choix aurait été cornélien. En FX, je me serais sûrement contenté d'un 610.
Pas de regrets non plus pour les optiques que j'ai vendu.
Toutes celles que j'ai actuellement sont utilisables dans les 2 standards, contrairement à avant. Il me manquerait tout au plus un trans-standard.

Et moi je dis, ça fait marcher le commerce, et bing, tout le monde est plus ou moins intéressé.

Perso, j'ai mon D610, j'en suis ravie, il fait de belles photos.
Par contre le prix de leur D500 est très cher par rapport au prix du D750 maintenant.
Je serai à votre place, j'hésiterai car c'est vraiment onéreux par rapport au prix du plein format, il n'est que DX.

Mais je ne dis pas que d'ici quelques temps, il me plairait pour Didier pour remplacer son D7000.

Comparatif entre le D500 et le D7200

Dans ce comparatif, il est dit que le D500 n'a pas de filtre passe bas.

Il est pas mal sinon le D7200.
Je ne sais pas ce qu'est un filtre passe bas.
J'ai encore beaucoup à apprendre.

Un filtre passe bas, pour faire simple sert à éviter les effets de moiré sur les photos.

Maintenant, tu vas me demander ce qu'est le moiré !
Un exemple :



C'est un défaut qui apparaît sur des boîtiers peu pixélisés (D90, D300...), et pas, ou beaucoup moins sur des boîtiers fortement pixélisés (D7100, D7200, D810 ...) Et ces derniers boîtiers que je cite n'en ont pas.

L’inconvénient du filtre passe bas, est qu'il fait perdre du piqué, d'où l'avantage de s'en passer quand c'est possible.

Mais dans le cas de ta photo, il faut s'en servir.

Non, tu ne choisis pas, il est sur ton boîtier ou pas.
Tu ne peux rien y faire.
C'est un filtre qui est collé sur le capteur.
Ce n'est pas un filtre vissant d'objectif.

Ok je pensais que c'était un filtre qu'il fallait aller chercher dans le menu.
J'ai lu que le D610 ne l'avait pas.

Moi ce 500 va me faire encore réfléchir un peu plus .

J'ai quand même trouvé un point négatif : plus de flash intégré. La faute au nouveau système de transmission sans fil ?

Oui et non pour le flash.
A comparer avec un D300 oui mais s'il se passe en tant que DX Pro,les boitiers Pro comme les les D4/D4S/D5 n'ont pas de flash intégré.

Un Yongnuo 560 EX III qui fait office de transmetteur plus un Transmetteur/recepteur Yongnuo comme le RF603N II et tout le tour est joué.

Pour s'en est pas un point négatif.

Moi qui pensait passer au Fx ce 500 va me faire rester en DX je pense.

Avec 2 boîtiers, ça le fait aussi !
